Where To Buy QuickBooks Pro 2010

QuickBooks Pro 2010 is financial software designed to help make your business more effective and track finances in one place - it is especially good software for small businesses. With it you can enter charges, pay bills, create sales receipts, create invoices, receive payments, print statements and record statement charges, and track refunds and credits. You can email invoices to clients using Outlook. You can use QuickBooks Pro 2010 for your banking needs (record deposits, write checks, reconcile your account) and use it to better market your business. You can use a customizable company snapshot to find out where your business stands. There are over 100 reports you can create to show how your business is doing. QuickBooks Pro 2010 does all this and more.

What I like:

My last version of QuickBooks was from 2004, so there are a lot of things I like about QuickBooks Pro 2010. First, it is very easy to install and you can effortlessly transfer information from former versions of QuickBooks. The customer information, including address, appears on the screen which saves you from having to look it up as you had to in previous versions. It is much easier to change multiple billing names at once and you can also edit the payment terms for several customers at the same time - a real time saver for someone like me who changes billing terms on a yearly basis. When recording payments you can sort by customers with open balances. If there is an underpayment, QuickBooks gives you an alert asking if you want to leave it as an underpayment or write-off the extra amount. You can instantly create letters to customers about past due invoices - a nice feature that saves me a lot of time - you can also email those letters and invoices right from the program using Outlook. You can upload data from Excel directly into QuickBooks and print reports using either Excel or a PDF format. When paying bills you can add a signature directly onto checks; if receiving payments you can scan the checks into QuickBooks. It is very easy to record payments. You can use QuickBooks to enhance marketing your business by creating targeted campaigns using auto-generated mailing lists.

What I don't like:

It's slow. Very slow. It is slow opening up; it is slow shutting down. It is slow switching from company to company. It's very slow updating data. The pop up ads are extremely annoying. There is a feature in customer information where you can click on driving directions to a client's location which is a great feature except the directions are highly inaccurate and can't be relied on. You can scan documents into QuickBooks - this would be another nice feature except it is very limited and you can only use certain scanners. The Document Management Center is another nice feature where you can allow other users to search for and add documents to QuickBooks but you have to sign up for it first and you have to pay after 100 MB. It is great that you can instantly create letters to clients but the letters address the client by first name which isn't very professional (this can be edited however).

Bottom-line: Although QuickBooks Pro 2010 is very slow, it has very many useful features that outweigh the bad. Highly recommended, especially for small business owners.
